Aerating wine, swirling it in a glass or letting it "breathe" in a wine decanter, is an important step in developing its bouquet and softening its flavor when a bottle is first opened. However, exposure to oxygen for long periods of time deteriorates wine's quality and taste. Our Wine Preserver Pump and Stopper Set pumps oxygen out of the bottle and seals in freshness and flavor. To preserve an open bottle of wine, simply insert the stopper, place the vacuum pump on top while holding it in place, and pump the handle of the vacuum pump until there's a resistance for a fully sealed bottle. The bottle stoppers create an airtight and liquid-tight seal to keep oxygen out and maintain quality and taste of leftover wine for up to 10 days. To pour another glass, squeeze the top of the stopper to release the vacuum seal and remove the stopper. For best results, bottles should be stored in the upright position.
