Steelport 4" Paring
Steelport Knife Co.
The STEELPORT 4" Paring Knife is designed for a high level of maneuverability and application. A paring knife is an essential tool and the second most frequently used knife in the kitchen after a chef knife. The smallest knife in the STEELPORT lineup, our team designed the 4" Paring Knife to perfectly complement the STEELPORT 8" and 6" Chef Knife, using the same materials, handcrafted methods and rigorous attention to detail. It's a perfect choice for any "minimalist" who enjoys a tool that can multitask. Its unique shape and size allow the 4" Paring Knife to perform many functions of a petty or utility knife as well, from preparing smaller produce like shallots and garlic, to light precision butchering tasks such as processing small game birds and trimming fat.
BLADE SHAPE:
The sheepsfoot tip allows the blade to have a flatter profile which means it can make more contact with the board. It is intentionally taller and larger than an average paring knife, allowing for precision without being too delicate, and the contoured handle provides a comfortable close grip for finer control and finesse. The longer-than-average 4" length allows for use on a cutting board and finer kitchen tasks as well as use holding in-hand for peeling and coring.
BLADE MATERIAL/HEAT TREAT:
STEELPORT knives have solid one-piece traditional drop forged construction from blade tip to end cap with an integral bolster for a well-balanced and long-lasting knife. Through STEELPORT's proprietary differential heat treatment, American 52100 Carbon Steel achieves an unmatched 65HRC hardness at the blade for exceptional long-lasting sharpness, while maintaining a softer 30HRC spine for lifelong durability. The bolster and spine are hand-polished smooth for a supremely comfortable pinch grip hold.
HANDLE:
The more generous overall size, contoured handle, and rounded spine of the STEELPORT 4" Paring Knife allows for more comfort and versatility than a typical paring knife. For all STEELPORT handles, we use Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl, a locally sourced, naturally unique burl wood, stabilized with resin to meet tough kitchen requirements and won't shrink or swell.

Steelport 6" Chef
Steelport Knife Co.
The 6" chef knife brings the versatility of a chef knife in a smaller more agile size. A 6" Chef Knife is ideal for anyone who simply feels more comfortable with a shorter blade or has limited space - whether that's on their cutting board at home or prep station at work. The STEELPORT 8" Chef Knife and 6" Chef Knife have the same performance aspects, handle size, 2" height at the bolster, and blade width. The 6" has a slightly shorter blade and more curve at the tip.
BLADE SHAPE:
We designed the 6" with more curve to the edge close to the tip in order to lengthen the cutting surface and allow the user more available cutting techniques. This results in the unique location of the tip in-line with our finger groove in the choil. A "finger groove" is added to our chef knives at the heel of the blade to allow for comfort and control while holding the knife in the preferred pinch-grip. All surfaces are hand smoothed to ensure a comfortable soft touch to help with long-term comfort without hot spots. This includes rounding the spine of the knife.

HANDLE:
We recognize that the size of the knife has nothing to do with the size of the person using it. The 6" Chef Knife handle is the same full size as the 8", contoured to accommodate any hand, and offering a 2" height at the blade heel for finger clearance. For all STEELPORT handles, we use Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl, a locally sourced, naturally unique burl wood, stabilized with resin to meet tough kitchen requirements and won't shrink or swell.

Steelport 8" Chef
Steelport Knife Co.
The chef knife is the most important tool in your knife kit, used for 90% + of kitchen tasks. If one were to only own a single knife -- this should be it. This 8" chef knife is the first and flagship offering from STEELPORT, designed for everything from large projects to quick chopping in the kitchen.
BLADE SHAPE:
The overall shape of STEELPORT blades are defined by considering best functionality and comfort. Our 8" Chef Knife is designed with a "Sheepsfoot" tip so the user can still safely use their hand as a guide while using the tip of the knife. A "finger groove" is added to our chef knives at the heel of the blade to allow for comfort and control while holding the knife in the preferred pinch-hold. All the surfaces are processed to ensure a comfortable soft touch to help with long-term comfort. This includes rounding the spine of the knife.

Steelport 10" Slicing
Steelport Knife Co.
The STEELPORT 10" Slicer Knife combines the best attributes of a slicer and cimeter. The curved blade ensures full contact on the cutting board and keeps your knuckles from hitting the board for a comfortable feel. A long slicing knife is ideal for trimming and portioning large cuts of meat and fish. Any home cook or professional chef who regularly prepares larger proteins will get plenty of use out of this knife. The STEELPORT 10" Slicer is an impressive showpiece for those who value a professional cut and presentation, whether for a special occasion like carving a holiday roast, trimming and portioning meat and fish, or precision work such as making sushi/sashimi.
BLADE SHAPE:
The curved blade and 1" heel of the STEELPORT 10" Slicer allows for more knuckle clearance on the board and is great for the portioning and trimming cuts classically used with a cimeter.
This longer 10" length prevents a sawing motion to achieve cleaner cuts. The tip of the STEELPORT slicer is sharpened, making it effective when trimming meat and fish.
